GRUMBLE - Israelites in the Wilderness

"Grumble" is the perfect song to use when telling the story about the Israelites in the wilderness (Exodus 16:1-35).

Chorus:

When things don’t go your way
Do you grumble grumble grumble and complain
When things don’t go your way
Do you grumble grumble grumble and complain
When things don’t go your way
Do you grumble grumble grumble and complain
When things don’t go your way
Why don’t you stop and pray

The Israelites were hungry
They whined and mumbled oh why
God’s promises they couldn’t see
Though it rained food from the big blue sky
Oh me oh my it rained from the sky

(Repeat Chorus)

Now they had lots of food to eat
But still they would complain
Moses followed God and made the water sweet
From a rock where God called out his name
And he wasn’t ashamed and he called out His name

(Chorus)

So when you feel like whining
Just don’t give in
Cause God’s got the best timing
And He’s our very best friend
So Lord I’m gonna pray
And call upon your name
Lord I’m gonna wait
And never ever be ashamed
Lord I’m gonna pray
And call upon your name
I know with you I can
Always stop
Always stop
Always stop
And pray

Let’s pray!

COMMENT

"I’ve been using all your music forever – first with our kids, then at their elementary chapels, & in church for all the years after that! When we have grandkids someday, they will be blessed by your music as well. Thank you for using your gifts for Him…leading little ones to grow in Him!” (Betsy)
